John co-founded The Lyons Group in 2009 and is responsible for the overall business management, strategy and capital-raising of the Company. Lyons is a real estate development and investment business which has successfully rezoned and developed residential, retail and commercial real estate along the east coast of Australia in syndicated ventures.​

He is the Responsible Officer for Somerset Capital Financial Services, International Private Equity, and Bellevue Hill Capital, Australian Real Estate, which both hold Australian Financial Services Licenses. John has over 30 years’ experience in banking, wealth management and capital markets, including almost a decade as an Executive with Merrill Lynch Australia.​

​John was founding Director of NU Energy which acquired Click Energy in 2011 with 17,000 customers. From 2011 John was on the board of Click Energy Group when it installed a new management team and independent chairman alongside procurement, hedging and working capital facilities with Macquarie Bank. This combination drove growth of Click to leadership as an independent online retailer with 170,000 customers at exit to ASX listed Amaysim Australia Limited in May 2017.​
